Beyond Now

It can be easy to be stuck in the tyranny of the present.  What does that mean?

When you are going through a tough time, it can be hard to see beyond it.

Health issues, family discord, relationship struggles, and financial stress can all be so overwhelming that it seems there is no way things will improve.

The present day trouble can feel so all-encompassing that you don’t believe there’s a way out.

In the midst of difficult times, you can think back to times you passed through other hardships.  Pain is not always permanent.  The situations you face today will not be the same forever.  Many of the things you stress about won’t even matter in ten years.  Some problems just have a way of working themselves out.  The other frustrations?  Things can change in ways you might not expect or even believe possible.

Joesph in the Old Teatsment went from a pit to slavery and then to prison.  It was one trouble after another.  In the end, he was in the palace with power and authority.  Things can change.

I encourage you not to allow the tyranny of present problems rob you of your hope for your future.  Hang on! Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
