Grief and Loss
When you lose someone you love, it’s hard to know where to turn. The heartbreaking grief is overwhelming. Similarly, when you are trying to help someone else through their grief, it is difficult to find the right words and know how to help. On October 3rd and 4th Oliver’s will be hosting workshops that provide education for the bereaved and for those working with and caring for them.
We are honored to have Clair H. Jantzen leading these seminars. Clair holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counselling, is a Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling, a registered member of the Canadian Professional Counselors Association, and has completed advanced training with the Grief Recovery Institute. He has over 30 years experience counseling those who have suffered loss. Clair is passionate about caring for people, hoping to provide them with the necessary understanding and context for their life and its challenges.
Wednesday, October 3rd, from 7-9:00pm will be “Coping with Loss and Finding Hope”. This session focusses on the bereaved and aims to provide ways to help with your loss. Refreshments will be served.
Thursday, October 4th, from 9am-4pm will be “Compassion in the Hard Places”. This series of workshops is directed towards those working with the grieving, and individuals who are trying to find ways to help a loved one through their grief. Topics include: “The Tasks of Mourning”, “Companionship the Bereaved”, and “Complex Grief”. Lunch will be provided.
To attend either session, please register online at oliversfuneralhome.com or by phone 780.532.2929. Both sessions are complimentary. Register by Friday, September 28th. Late registrations will be accepted based on availability.
