Phishing Attacks

Gone Phishing?  Phishing is the term used for malicious emails trying to get information from you, or to urge you to react.  These attacks are NOT viruses nor mal-ware, therefore there is little a standard Anti-Virus program can do. There are often no attachments to the email.  Rather, a link to a site where they want you to enter your usernames and passwords.  If you cough up this information they will log into your services and can act on your behalf. This can lead to many other issues. Often, they will try to scare you into reacting by setting time limits, or claiming they have your passwords, or some dirty information on you.  These are warning signs that this is not legitimate.  If it seems Phishy, it probably is. Stay vigilant.
