CHRISTMAS CANDLELIGHT SERVICE

HANDLING THE HOLIDAYS
At Oliver’s Funeral Home, we recognize that after the loss of a loved one, the season of light and song can be touched with a bittersweet sadness. Christmas is recognized as a time of peace and hope, to be joyous with family and friends. For many, it brings back memories of happy times spent with loved ones now gone. Celebrating Christmas after a death in the family can be difficult.
Over the holidays, coming together with others who have experienced the loss of a loved one offers the support of a group of people who can truly empathize. The lighting of candles and singing of carols has long been a powerful symbol of remembrance. It is our hope that this simple, time-honoured gesture may provide a way of healing the past and bringing music back into your hearts.
We invite everyone to join us for our Candlelight Service and to stay afterwards for a time of fellowship and refreshments served in our Tea Room.
Special guest speaker Lisa Teichroeb will be sharing her story of losing her loved one. Lisa is a teacher and mother of three who lost a son to overdose in September of 2017. She will be sharing her experience of this overwhelming loss and how she is learning to “trek on” through the ever-changing walk of grief.
Because we have a video tribute with a picture of each loved one that will be missed this holiday season, we ask you to please register by Monday, December 2nd. You can RSVP online at www.oliversfuneralhome.com/christmas or call 780.532.2929.
We sincerely hope you are able to join us.
