What should I remember about the bible?

The truth of the Bible

is always the same-

God forgives sin,

Takes our guilt and our shame!

For its life-giving words

Touch souls that are dead,

And divinely revive ‘em

Leaving live ones instead!

If it helps you remember,

Just say this refrain:

“The Bible’s from God

And will always remain!

God speaks through the Bible-

Each word and each page-

And His message extends

To the end of the age!”

Yes the Bible will change you In big ways and small.

It’s the best book you’ll find

And the greatest of all!

How many books did God write?

The Bible’s complete

And it shouldn’t be changed,

Rewritten, reworded,

Rephrased, rearranged.

Never add your own teachings

Or take some away.

This one book contains

All that God wants to say!

Of all the writings

That people might write,

There is only one writing

That is totally right!

There is only one Bible,

One book that is holy.

(It’s like playing hockey-

You get only one goalie!)

Though some folks deny it

And make quite a fuss,

The Bible’s the only book

God wrote for us.

(and though His opponents

Have tried hard to ban it,

God’s Word keeps on spreading

All over the planet!)

Why is the Bible Useful?

Two parts to the Bible-

The Old and the New.

Each part is still Bible.

Each part is still true.

Each part’s called a Testament,

And to help you keep track,

Remember: “Old in the front

And New in the back!”

There are sixty-six books

In the two parts combined,

and if you counted each chapter

In the Bible you’d find

One thousand, one hundred and eighty-nine!

(And that’s more than I’d care

To count at one time!)

There are thirty-one thousand

Verses for learning,

Correcting, directing,

Perfecting, discerning,

And telling of God

And His wonderful ways,

Helping us, teaching us

Each of our days,

Guiding and leading,

Improving our choices,

Our actions,

Our thoughts,

And the use of our voices

That`s the book for me.

The Bible is cool!

It’s awesome and true.

It’s God’s special message

Recorded for you.

It’s different from all other

Books on the shelf

‘Cause God was the author

And wrote it himself!

It wasn’t “made up”

Like a legend or fable.

It’s totally true

Because God isn’t able

To make a mistake

Or let errors slip in.

You can trust what it says

Through thick and through thin!

So what’s in the Bible?

What does it contain?

God’s plan of salvation

Made simple and plain!

With parables, poems,

And prayers you can pray,

And tales of heroes

Who lived far away!

The Bible predicts

What the future will bring

And it even includes

A few songs you can sing

It has stories and warnings

Of what no to do,

And the best of all news-

God came to save you!

God’s Boxes

I have in my hands two boxes which God gave me to hold.

He said, “Put all your sorrows in the black box,

and all your joys in the gold.”

I heeded His words and in the two boxes,

both my joys and sorrows I stored;

But though the gold became heavier each day,

the black was as light as before.

With curiosity, I opened the black-

I wanted to find out why.

And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole,

which my sorrows had fallen out by.

I showed the hole to God and mused,

‘I wonder where my sorrows could be!’

He smiled a gentle smile and said,

“My child, they’re all here with me.”

I asked God why He gave me the boxes-

why the gold and black with the hole?

“My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings-

the black is for you to let go!”

The Earth tones speak of the lowly stable of Bethlehem where the King of Heaven humbled Himself, became flesh and dwelt among us. He came knowing full well that the road through Bethlehem would lead to the lonely hill of Calvary.

He made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bond servant, and coming in the likeness of men.

Purple- the mantle of royalty, speaks of His Kingship for – God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name.

Gold speaks to us of the Kingly crown of Jesus Christ who reigned with the Father and the Holy Spirit before the world began.

Jesus being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God.

Crimson recalls to mind the stained cross on that hill where Christ purchased our redemption, once and for all. In the love story of all time, the perfect Son of Man paid the price of our sin so that we might become sons of God.

He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

Green celebrates our new life- for we become new creatures as we receive God’s Precious Gift to human hearts – Jesus, our Emmanuel.

This Christmas, we sing anew the song of salvation and confess again that – Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Alleluia

Scripture taken from Philippians 2:6-11

November 2011 Article

“It”  all happened in a moment, a most remarkable moment that was like none other. For through that segment of time a spectacular thing occurred. God became a man. While the creatures of earth walked unaware, Divinity arrived. Heaven opened herself and placed her most precious one in a human womb.

God as a fetus. Holiness sleeping in a womb. The creator of life being created. God was given eyebrows, elbows, two kidneys, and a spleen. He stretched against the walls and floated in the amniotic fluids of his mother.

God had come near. No silk. No ivory. No hype. To think of Jesus in such a light is- well, it seems almost irreverent, doesn’t it? It is much easier to keep the humanity out of the incarnation.

But don’t do it. For heaven’s sake don’t. Let him be as human as he intended to be. Let him into the mire and muck of our world. For only if we let him in can he pull us out.

Jesus’ Birth

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory as the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

-John 1:14, 17-18

We carry a great selection of giftware for all occasions…wedding, anniversary, baptism, teacher, doctor, nurse, grad, baby, friendship, pets, ministry and a special section for bereavement.

Our kids section has movies, music, toys and puzzles and lots of great reading starting with toddler books to youth. We also carry a large selection of boxed and counter cards all with scripture.

We specialize in BIBLE BASED product so most everything has scripture or inspirational thoughts. Sunday school teachers and those looking for bible studies and teaching material will find what they need. If we don’t have it we can help them find it and order for them. We do mail outs and deliver to shut ins.

Bibles are still the best selling books in our store and we have lots of translations to choose from as well as bible cases and dry highlighters for those that like to mark special verses.

Come in and take a LOOK at the NOOK. We’ll be waiting to say a friendly hi and offer you a scotch mint. Be blessed
