It’s really not news to most of us that exercise helps people look and feel better, exercise will help prevent and treat almost every disease, and that exercise will increase the quality and length of your life. Study after study has shown this to be true. So why aren’t more people exercising? That’s the big question we try to answer here at Anytime Fitness, why aren’t people exercising and how can we help bridge that gap.
Some top reasons people don’t exercise are:
- Not enough time
- Don’t know what to do
- Too self-conscious
Let’s address these, Reason #1: Not enough time. This is probably the biggest reason people don’t exercise, there’s simply not enough time in the day. At Anytime Fitness we can’t add more hours to the day or get your boss to let you leave early, but what we can do is provide clean and convenient 24/7/365 gyms so that you don’t have to accommodate our schedule. We are also located in a shopping area (across from Walmart) so you can fit your workout in while running other errands. You’ve got enough going on in your day without worrying about us, so don’t…we are always open for you.
Reason #2: Don’t know what to do. This is a very common complaint of new exercisers. There’s a lot of information out there on the best ways to exercise, some of it confusing and even contradictory. At Anytime Fitness your membership comes with a workout plan, and 2 hours with a Certified Personal Trainer. We will help you get started, and we will make sure we answer any questions that need to be answered.
Reason #3: I’m too self conscious/uncomfortable. On a regular basis we hear people say they want to get into shape before going to the gym to get in shape. Also some older people think gyms are only for people in their 20’s or 30’s. Gyms can be intimidating! Usually there’s muscular guys and scantily clad women doing weird things on weird not-so-clean equipment…and kind of a funny smell! We’re not like that at Anytime Fitness. We’re the gym for NORMAL PEOPLE. We smile, we know your name, we can talk about our struggles to get in shape. We don’t judge, we HELP!
At Anytime Fitness we have a lot of things that great gyms have, like state of the art Cardio equipment with personal TV’s, weight machines, free weights, live classes and virtual classes, personal trainers, 24/7/365 access (we literally NEVER close), PERSONAL change rooms and tanning. These things can make a good gym. But what good is that if you don’t go? The missing ingredient that Anytime Fitness provides is a welcoming, non-judgemental staff (including local ownership) who want to help people. We can’t make you come to the gym, but we’ll do everything we can to help so that YOU want to come to the gym.
